The Summer Itty Bitty Book Series

The letters of John and Jude and the book of Philemon are some of the smallest books in the Bible. John and Jude wrote letters to churches threatened by false teachers set on diluting grace and taming the Gospel by integrating the predominant religions of the surrounding culture. The false teachers of our time do the same with similar false religions of “spirituality”, or “modernity”, “intellectualism” or “relativism”. As we work through the letters of John and Jude, we will see that the Gospel cannot be tamed. Grace cannot be diluted. Christ’s death, resurrection and Lordship, is more powerful, beautiful and personal than the false teachings of any age.

In the book of Philemon, Paul provides a case study in restoration that shows how the practical outworking of the Gospel cuts through the social, economic and justice norms of the culture.
